I'm a Lead Software Engineer at Morningstar.

Fenka is my online home. I care as much about how software gets built as the finished product, and I’m slightly obsessed with developer experience — whether that means better design systems, less friction, smarter testing, simpler pipelines or improving the processes around the code.

I spent several years helping build and evolve the Morningstar Design System, but these days my work is much broader — spanning developer tooling, CI/CD and infrastructure, security, AI and agent workflows, and data visualisation.

MyRolora

I’d been kicking around the idea for MyRolora for years (around 15 years!). Whenever I was job hunting, I’d end up tracking applications in an Excel spreadsheet and thinking there had to be a better way. I recently found my old “Ideas” notebook, complete with sketches and a database design, so I finally decided to build it — somewhere to keep applications, progress and all the other bits of a job search in one place.

Morningstar Design System

I joined the Morningstar Design System team near the beginning and helped evolve it through several generations — from HTML/Jekyll and plain JavaScript, through Vue 2 and Vue 3, to a newer Product System. My work covered components, design tokens, accessibility and the technical foundations used across Morningstar products.

Royal Mint

As one of the lead engineers on the Royal Mint’s ecommerce website, building it from scratch with Sitecore. This was back when Internet Explorer 8 was still something we had to support, which made things interesting at times.

Visit Britain & TfL

I was one of the lead engineers on what turned into a long-running programme for VisitBritain and Transport for London. What looked like one project from the outside was actually six separate projects, each with its own requirements, ultimately made available across 41 countries.
The programme launched in 2015.
